Chiropractic Care

Are your brain and body communicating like they should? Chiropractic is a noninvasive way to make sure that communication highway is open and functioning at its highest levels. The barrier to this occurrence is called a vertebral subluxation complex, or subluxation for short.

Restoring Your Communications

A subluxation is an area of the spine that isn’t moving properly. When it occurs, it will put pressure on your nerves, meaning that information can’t be transmitted clearly from the brain to body and back.

Dr. Oberg addresses subluxations by giving you an adjustment. The most common methods he uses include

  • Gonstead
  • Pettibon
  • Activator®
  • Toggle
  • Drop table
  • Diversified

Your adjustment will be precise, addressing a particular area of your spine. There are a myriad of conditions that respond well to adjustments. Dr. Oberg has a particular soft spot for sufferers of migraine headaches, which he has also experienced.

Frequently Asked Questions

Once I go to a chiropractor, will I always have to go?

Not everyone who chooses chiropractic care decides to go for life, but many of our patients choose regular wellness care because it gives them more “life.” Like eating well, regular exercise, and other good habits, many see the advantage of wellness care as a good habit.

Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

Most of the time gentle, specific, effective adjustments don’t hurt. But sometimes some soreness is noticed. However, when that happens, the long-term benefits are worth the temporary discomfort.

Can chiropractic cure everything?

No, but when you are a chiropractic candidate, good things can happen!

Why would I have my newborn or young child adjusted?

Because the trauma of birth can be significant, and if it can be addressed early, your newborn won’t have the effects linger. We like the saying, “As the twig is bent, so grows the tree.” When your child’s spine is aligned throughout childhood, they can develop as they should.

Can chiropractic help with colic and how?

Yes, we have seen babies respond well to adjustments, giving both the baby and the parents relief.

Does insurance cover chiropractic visits?

Yes, sometimes for auto accident visits and Medicare. We work with both, but we are out-of-network providers for other insurance carriers. Being out-of-network allows us to recommend what’s best, and not make you part of the insurance numbers game, but still use your insurance if that is best for your situation.

How much does chiropractic care cost?

We work with a chiropractic discount program called Chiro Health USA, which costs $49 for the entire family for 12 months, but then puts a cap on adjustments at $45. Without this discount program, our regular adjustment rates vary from $75-$90 depending on how many regions are adjusted, and other charges depending on what other services are performed.

Do I need a referral from my physician?

No.

Do you work with medical doctors?

Yes, we receive referrals from MDs and refer out to them when appropriate.

Will I get adjusted on my first visit?

Sometimes. It depends on your situation.

Will you suggest exercises or other things I can do?

Yes, in fact, we often have patients do exercises prior to an adjustment, and then after an adjustment, some patients will do exercises on the Power Plate to help build strength and healthy posture.

Can someone who has had back surgery see a chiropractor?

Yes, we have seen many people who have had back surgery and can tailor the adjustment to their specific needs.
